Wyoming State License. BLS. ACLS. TNCC Schedule requirements Schedule is done one month at a time. Shifts will be 12-hour shifts from 0600 to 1800 or 1800 to 0600 depending on the requested need. Work weekends on a rotational basis. Skills and Job Functions scrubs: seal blue Must be experienced with vent patients and able to manage COPD, CHF, Art lines CVP's, open airways, Swans and hemodynamic monitoring. Perform neuro assessments, EKG monitoring, stroke, treat sepsis, and treat patients experiencing multisystem organ failure. Assist with line insertion, trach or peg placement- at bedside. Prefer some surgical post op or surgical experience. Must be familiar with NIHSS (Assessment for stroke patients) Ability to take initiative and be assertive, a patient advocate. Will be expected to float to PCU and on occasion to Neuro as needed. See client job description below for more information Equipment This is a Cardiac Monitoring Ward, must have experience with Cardiac Monitors. Balloon pumps. Horizon charting. PIXIS and Omincel for medication and supply access. Additional Information 14 bed unit. This unit is very willing to train any travel employee who wants to expand their clinical skills to new areas. HR Job Description: Role As a pivotal partner within the health care delivery team, the Registered Nurse will ensure the delivery of quality patient care, both individually as well as through leadership and delegation to other team members. Education and Experience Associate's degree in Nursing from accredited school of Nursing or successful completion of Diploma RN program is required. Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of Nursing is preferred. One year specific experience and successful completion of appropriate training or residency when applicable are required. Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations C urrent Wyoming RN license is required. C urrent American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health C are Providers is required. AHA Advanced C ardiac Life Support (AC LS) is required within 12 months of hire. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric C ourse (ENPC ) is required within 12 months of hire. Trauma Nursing C ore C ourse (TNC C ) is required within 12 months of hire. Supervisory Responsibilities This position has supervisory responsibilities for assigned LPNs and C NAs. This position may be assigned to the C harge Nurse role following appropriate training (see Leadership Duties below). When assigned as C harge Nurse, this position has supervisory responsibilities for RNs, LPNs, C NAs, and other clinical staff. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The employee shall comply with all safety and health standards, and all rules, regulations, and orders which are applicable to the individual's own position, actions, and conduct. Performs duties and responsibilities within the scope of a Registered Professional Nurse as defined by the Wyoming Nurse Practice Act and Wyoming Medical C enter policies and procedures. Assesses, develops, implements, and evaluates plan of care for the patient, utilizing a holistic approach. C oordinates and provides leadership for optimal patient outcomes in a team format. Performs admission, transfer, and discharge processes according to unit protocols. C ollaboratively assesses and develops an education plan for patient and family. Provides education to patient and family as appropriate. Practices quality management according to Joint C ommission and OSHA standards and regulatory guidelines. Keeps current on WMC policies and procedures. Reads and utilizes department communications. Maintains confidentiality standards for patients and patient-related information. Transports and/or monitors sedated patients according to WMC policies and procedures. Documents according to WMC policies and procedures. C onsistently practices patient safety, including falls prevention and pressure ulcer prevention. Maintains C ode of Ethics within practice. Participates in shared governance structures appropriate to responsibilities and interests, to improve nursing practice and patient care. Participates in unit staff meetings and committees. C omplies with WMC policies and procedures concerning Advance Directives. Appropriately reports occurrences according to WMC risk management guidelines. Performs required chart audits. Practices pain assessment and management according to WMC protocol. Follows WMC restraint policy. Delegates tasks appropriately. C oordinates patient care, including with ancillary departments.
