Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Labor and Delivery - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, rotating - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in a maternal child unit requiring Wyoming or compact state licensure and strong perinatal skills. Responsibilities - Work in a maternal child unit with labor, delivery, post-partum, and NICU services - Patient population includes antenatal, perinatal, and post-partum mothers, well babies, and NICU infants - Average of 65 deliveries per month with 4 LDR rooms, 15 post-partum, 7 well-baby, and 7 NICU beds - Staffs a Level II Nursery; deliveries under 32 weeks are transferred out - Laboring patient ratio is 1:2, with goal of 1:1 for mothers on Pitocin and in active labor; post-partum ratios are 1:5-6 mothers or 3 couplets - 12-hour rotating day and night shifts totaling 36 hours per week - Work every other weekend and holidays as required by the department - Flexible scheduling provided; opportunity to pick up extra shifts - Care is delivered in alignment with ANA, AWHONN, AAP, and Wyoming Nurse Practice Act standards - Provide comprehensive care and coordination for mothers and infants, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams - OR team manages C-sections within the department - Hospital provides scrubs for nurses in the maternal child department - Candidates must be willing to work both day and night shifts as needed Requirements - Active RN license in Wyoming or eligible for a temporary license with a clear background; compact state RN licenses accepted - Minimum of 2 years hospital experience in labor & delivery and post-partum required - Experience with Pitocin and magnesium sulfate drips required - Proven experience with high-risk antenatal and perinatal patients in a tertiary care setting preferred - Current certifications required: BLS (AHA only), NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring - Extensive knowledge of maternal fetal medicine practices is highly preferred Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-614066.
