SUMMARY The Radiology Tech II, working under the supervision of the
Radiology Director and the Staff Radiologist, performs radiological
imaging examinations of patients using both stationary and mobile
radiographic equipment. The Tech II positions patient as needed to
obtain optimal images and prevent patient from being exposed to
unnecessary radiation. Develops exposed X-ray film, ensures proper
film identification on all images, and creates x-ray CD copies.
Files films, maintains medical records, and performs other related
administrative duties. The Technologist III is distinguished by
their certification in one or more additional imaging modalities
(e.g., CT, MRI, Mammography). Requires an associate degree in a
related area, state licensure, and ARRT certification. ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS - Obtains and documents relevant medical history prior to
performing examinations. - Maintains certifications and
demonstrates proficiency in one additional ARRT-recognized
modalities. - Prepares and positions patients for diagnostic
procedures, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal imaging outcomes.
- Performs diagnostic imaging procedures as ordered by the
physician, following established protocols and standards of care. -
Assists the radiologist with special procedures and fluoroscopic
exams, ensuring appropriate setup and patient preparation. -
Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of all radiology rooms and
equipment according to infection control standards. - Ensures
weekly assigned imaging rooms are fully stocked with necessary
supplies and equipment. - Produces high-quality diagnostic images
by properly setting exposure factors and utilizing imaging
equipment. - Executes imaging studies according to departmental
protocols for specific modalities. - Operates PACS (Picture
Archiving and Communication System), including CD burning for image
distribution when necessary. - Follows department routines and
standards for exam preparation, execution, and documentation. -
Practices fiscal responsibility by ensuring job-related
expenditures remain within budgetary guidelines. - Maintains strict
confidentiality of patient and personnel information in compliance
with HIPAA and hospital policy. - Actively participates in required
Customer/Guest Relations and Mandatory Education programs. -
Reviews patient records for pertinent information necessary to
conduct exams (e.g., lab values, prior imaging, clinical
indications). - Verifies and validates physician orders for imaging
exams. - Utilizes hospital information systems (HIS, EMR, ED
charting) to obtain and record relevant patient data related to
imaging and transport. - Must be free from governmental sanctions
involving health care and/or financial practices. - Complies with
the hospital’s Corporate Compliance Program including, but not
limited to, the Code of Conduct, laws and regulations, and hospital
policies and procedures. - Other duties as assigned. This list is
non-exhaustive. JOB QUALIFICATIONS - Education - Graduate of an
accredited Radiologic Technology program with an Associate degree -
Certifications required - Current certification and registration
with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

Must hold current certification in one additional imaging modality,
such as CT, MRI, Mammography, or another national certification
recognized by the ARRT at the time of hire.
