Reports to: Corps Officer

FLSA Status: Part Time, Hourly (29 hours)

This is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt position paying $9.50/hour with vacation and sick time.

Scope of Position: The focus of the position will be to assist with The Salvation Army's programs and services at the Hope Center assuring Participants will have a safe and caring environment while at the Center. This position will require the employee in their duties and responsibilities to work with the Corps Officers, Social Service workers, WYStep-Up Program Manager and Resident Manager as part of a team effort (3) days shifts a week. Additionally, this position is specifically responsible to assist the WYStepUp Program Manager and Resident Manager at the Hope Center with the Participants of WYStepUp Women's Transitional Program by working two (2) nights shifts a week.

Essential Functions:

+ Assist the Hope Center Team with the essential functions of the programs and Services.

+ Assist with overnight management of the residents and facility at the Hope Center.


+ To Assist Resident Manager with monitoring the Participants of the WYStepUp Program assuring that they are living within program guidelines. (2) nights a week. and or during the day shift (3) days a week as needed.

+ To assist with monitoring the Hope Center inside and outside the facility by performing security checks. (2) nights a week.

+ Coordinate and assist with the cleanup of the Hope Center both inside and outside (2) nights a week, and or during the day shift (3) days a week when needed.

+ Assist the Hope Center Team with programs and Services during the day shift (3) days a week and or during the night shift (2) nights a week, when needed.

+ To assist Program Manager with intake, clerical, and office work for the WYStepUp Program during the day shift (3) days a week when needed.

+ Coordinate and assist with meal plans for programs, during the day shift (3) days a week when needed.

+ Attend staff meetings.

+ All other duties as assigned by the Corps Officer.

Education and Work Experience: High School graduate or equivalent. Higher Level of education and or skills training preferred.

Ability to Drive Preferred: Have a clean driving record and the ability to drive is preferred but not required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Interpersonal skills, basic management skills, the ability to manage emergencies and challenges in a calm manner. To provide conflict resolution and de-escalate issues both on an individual level and on a group level. To help to facilitate and lead health group dynamic within the programs and services of The Salvation Army Casper Hope Center.

Software-related skills and Communication Skills: Microsoft Word and Excel required, Microsoft Outlook, working knowledge of integrated database applications and ability to use new software programs with basic training. Ability to access and produce information from the computer. Ability to understand and give verbal and written information and instructions.

Physical Requirements: Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull, and reach overhead. Ability to operate telephone. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds. Qualifies individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. A qualifies person with a disability may request a modification or adjustment to the job or work environment in order to meet the physical requirements of the position. The Salvation Army will attempt to satisfy requests as long as the accommodation needed is reasonable and no undue hardship would result.
