We are excited to meet you!Position DescriptionHerrera is seeking a Project Engineer in Southeastern Wyoming to support regional solid waste, mine waste, and hazardous waste projects. This position is a project support position executing work for design and engineering related to cleanup and/or containment of waste; CERCLA and RCRA compliance; performing sampling and analysis of soil, groundwater, and waste materials; conducting construction oversight and environmental monitoring; preparing written reports; and interacting with clients, contractors, and other consultants.Our company provides a diverse range of engineering and environmental services to cities, counties, state and federal agencies, and private clients throughout the Rocky Mountains and Pacific Northwest. Working for public sector and private clients, the successful candidate will work with multi-disciplinary project teams and work to complete a variety of tasks using advanced problem solving, collaboration, and team leadership skills.The successful candidate will work closely with our staff in Montana, Washington and Oregon. The best candidate will thrive in a team environment and have a passion for supporting complex projects. The position will require work-from-home/office, planning/design throughout the year and construction oversight throughout Montana and Wyoming during the summers.Qualifications:Bachelor s degree in civil or environmental engineering (EIT) or equivalentApplicants are to be a Wyoming resident, or ability to become one by end of this year.Strong candidates for this opening will have:1 to 5+ years professional experience (Engineer, Construction Engineering Tech, Geologist)Construction oversight experience working on civil projectsReclamation/Remediation ExperienceExperience preparing design plans, construction specifications, and construction cost estimatesThe position would require some construction oversight work during the summers and work-from-home, planning/design work during the winter.Additional Skills and Abilities:Collaborator and team builder with capacity to work with staff from diverse technical disciplinesExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsMust be a highly motivated self-starterExperience with AutoCAD / Civil3DExperience with natural resource issuesFamiliar with sampling and analysis of soil, groundwater, surface water, and waste materials;Environmental monitoring.Experience preparing written reports; and interacting with clients, contractors, and other consultants.In this role we will count on you to: Provide project engineering design support working on multi-disciplinary, complex project teams.Provide on-site environmental monitoring and sampling and data collection.Provide construction oversight and documentation for a range of projects throughout Wyoming and Montana and the Pacific Northwest.
