ServeWyoming AmeriCorps VISTA-Summer-Seton House
We provide tools, support, and caring connections so that
families, individuals and children can have the opportunity for
positive growth. We are open and affirming; we offer safety both
environmentally and emotionally; we offer informed guidance &
support; we are accountable; we move forward together. We are
striving for improved personal outlooks, improved access to
networks of support, sustainable self-sufficiency, improved safety,
and improved family stability. Seton House case management is about
connecting single-parents with needs to resources and skill
building to alleviate those needs. We provide and require
participants to engage in our Connections personal and professional
development class within 6 months of joining our program. Through
Connections adults take a deep dive into their personal lives in an
effort to identify obstacles and strengths. Tackling the obstacles
and building on the strengths leads to planning and goal setting.
Additional poverty alleviation activities include "working our
program" which means meeting regularly with a social worker, paying
program fees, abiding by Seton House campus rules and meeting
expectations-in particular the expectations surrounding employment
and parenting. Further help on this page can be found by clicking
