Job Description:
This is a full time position that is responsible for supervising
and processing the monthly oil and gas sales and payment of
royalties and associated fees and taxes related to the operations
of True Oil LLC, including maintenance of tax masters as necessary
to process royalties. To perform this job successfully, an
individual must be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation. This
position is responsible for: Overseeing monthly revenue run
process. Recording oil and gas sales. Reviewing monthly revenue
check-write process. Completing monthly general ledger account
reconciliations and analysis; preparing any necessary corrections
to clear balances for assigned accounts on a monthly basis.
Preparing accounts receivable reconciliation report and resolving
outstanding balances for assigned properties on a monthly basis.
Preparing federal and state royalty and tax reports and making
related general ledger (G/L) entries to record/clear payments.
Preparing journal vouchers and auditing folder workpapers, as
assigned. Monthly process of state taxes in all necessary states,
quarterly process of state taxes, and annual ad valorem taxes in
states of operation. Supervising and preparing periodic escheat
processes, filing unclaimed property reports with all necessary
states. Responsible for researching any changes and staying current
with these filing obligations. Reconciling suspense funds, escrow
funds, and sliding step scale royalty, reduced royalty rate for the
federal government and may include the State of Wyoming; royalty
reporting and payment to the State of Wyoming and the federal
government; rental recoupment and correspondence; assist Land with
minimum royalty payments and reporting. Ensuring True Oil is in
compliance with applicable taxes and regulations surrounding the
revenue process. Communicating with Operations team, Land Dept.,
Production Dept., customers, vendors, and employees in the normal
course of business, including communication with royalty owners, as
well as state and federal agencies. Communicating with Production
Dept. on monthly and annual production and sales volumes for all
state and government regulatory reporting. Working with Production
Dept. regarding Excalibur production accounting and revenue sales
and allocation concerns and any volume discrepancies. Communicating
with True Oil LLC's Oil and Gas Purchasers regarding sales volumes
and values. Training, developing and supervising revenue accounting
team Performing special projects that require knowledge of oil and
gas revenue accounting. Minimum requirements include: Bachelor's
degree in Accounting or equivalent education with five (5) years of
experience and two (2) years of supervisory experience; an
equivalent combination of education, experience and/or abilities
may be considered. Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
software applications. Ability to use a 10-key by touch;
proficiency with computer keyboarding; and the ability to use a
copier, fax machine and scanner. Ability to calculate financial
amounts and indicators. Ability to research and interpret rules and
regulations to solve complex issues. Attention to detail with the
ability to verify accuracy in one's own work. English language
fluency, verbal and written. Acceptable results of a pre-employment
