JOB SUMMARY The Clinical Staffing Coordinator is directly accountable to the Director of Nursing Services (DNS) to assist in scheduling nursing staff, responsible for ensuring staffing levels are adequate to meet departmental and resident care needs, assist in training and orienting Nursing Assistants, and to provide general clerical support to Nursing Services. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Assists in the training and orientation of Nursing Assistants and Certified Nursing Assistants as directed (CNAs). Prepares daily nursing assignment sheets, arranges for coverage for open positions; may fill CNA open position. Prepares nursing monthly work schedule by the 20th of the preceding month and provides draft to the DNS approval. Coordinates and completes the master departmental schedule and 24-hour boards for the nursing department. Find replacement staff occurring as a result of sick calls or emergencies to assure that schedule is full on a per shift basis each day. Manages associate absence log and notifies appropriate Director/Manager regarding attendance issues as they arise. Available to assist the unit, within the scope of their training, to ensure quality of care for residents. Maintains a Nursing Staff telephone list OTHER DUTIES Answers phones as needed and assigned. Assists at mealtime feeding residents as needed. Types, mails and files letters, policies, and processes at supervisors request. Serves on various committees as needed or assigned. Fills the CNA open position as needed or directed. Other duties as assigned and appropriate to the position.
